X launches Stories, uses Grok AI to summarize news | Technology News
X is getting a bunch of new AI-powered features. According to an announcement made by the official X engineering team via their X handle @XEng, premium subscribers now get a summary of posts on X associated with each trending story. Stories feature will be visible under the ‘For You’ tab of the ‘Explore’ section.
The For You page shows users stories and news they are interested in, and lets them catch up on what is happening on the platform. When you tap on a story, instead of using text from the article or news itself, the summary is generated based on the conversations happening on the platform.

However, as is the case with most AI models, X says Grok is susceptible to hallucinations. Below the generated summary, you will also see a warning message that says, “Grok can make mistakes, verify its outputs”.
While the idea of summarizing trending news may not be new, the way these summaries are offered is. Under Jack Dorset, Twitter offered a similar feature, but instead of using AI, the platform itself would curate a summary of the ongoing trends and pin a tweet to give users the context they need.
In the last few months, X has been working on some new features that include a Google Meet-like conferencing solution. Earlier this month, ahead of the general election, the platform expanded the Community Notes feature to India.
